How to Protect Yourself When Choosing a Roofing Contractor

There is no such thing as being overprotective when it comes to your home and your finances. There are plenty of roofing contractors out there that are willing to bend the rules to simplify things for themselves, resulting in problems for you and your roof. Even honest contractors make mistakes occasionally. That's why it's important to know these four simple ways to protect yourself when choosing a roofing contractor.

Workers' Compensation

A general contractor is legally able to install a roof unlicensed roofing if they have a licensed general contractor. This causes problems for building owners and homeowners. It is ideal for a general contractor to be licensed roofing, in addition to general contractors license.

In Utah, the license number is S280 for general ceilings. General contractors license is B100.

If the roofing contractor is in the middle of working on the roof and you find that you have provided information for fraudulent business license (in Utah) you have the option to terminate their service immediately.
